How many miles (or km) on your 1998-2003 XK8 ?
I see a lot of fairly low miles referenced on most of the XK8's and Jaguars in general. I belong to a couple of other auto forums, and some like Chevy S10 pick ups from the 1990's are approaching 400,000 miles (granted only a few) on original engines. Conversely a lot of very low mileage Corvettes (especially Z06). I assume this is because the Corvettes and Jaguars are for the most part not daily drivers. So is anyone that has the Jag as their daily driver up near 200,000 miles or even more? It would be interesting to know what has been replaced by that time for you high mileage folks. Especially if properly maintained are the engines still good ? Certainly at ~300 motor hp it should not be unduly stressed.
My 2000 XK8 = 95,000 miles

Mine is a '97 and it has 100743 on it now. Owned it almost 2 years.
Repaired ECU at ASI
Replaced plugs, coils
Replaced water pump, T-stat, t-stat housing, radiator hoses, bypass hose, coolant, ECU temp sensor.
Replaced emergency brake cable
Gas filter
Brake/CC switches
Repaired stereo power amp.
Tires
Cleaned MAS/Throttle body
New air filter and filter box rubber mount.
Tensioner and idler pulleys and belt.
Still to do:
Check secondary tensioners and replace if not already done
Repair ABS module.

I've seen a couple of owners here mention that they have 160,000 to 170,000 miles on their XK8/XKR. I believe that both of them are pre-2000 models. One is a SoCal car and I can't remember where the other one lives. Maybe they'll see this thread and chime in for you....
My wife's daily-driver 2006 XK8 is still running strong at 99,500 miles. No engine work required on her 4.2 yet but I've replaced some of the cooling system's plastic ductwork (which is typical)....
Count me in the group that believes these cars stay healthier when they are driven regularly....

Just turned 80k miles here. Cooling system just overhauled with new radiator, water pump and thermostat. New Alternator also fitted. New tires, discs, pads. MOT and service. Nothing spent for the first 3 years ownership, then bang over £3k - easy come easy go hey!

Well, I didn't do it myself. But the indy I use would've checked the hoses I'd imagine. He had the car long enough. When I speak to him again I will ask the question. Otherwise the care seems to be going perfect.

I live in Florida and my '99 has 167k on it. I have owned the car for 5 years and will keep it till dead then restore it. I have had major issues with transmission (one rebuild and one replacement) and replace head gasket (did value job while off). Have to redo front end thump now and chase down fuel smell.
This is a 17 yr old car and I get compliments on it every day. You can check out my post on maintenance cost I posted earlier this month. It was costly last year but still cheaper than an car payment. When is the last time you looked at a guy driving an SUV or truck and thought, "what a nice ride".

You would have seen it in the BILL if he did them all. Rad hoses, valley hoses, octopus hose, and hand full of smaller ones.

My daily driver and cross-country steed is an '03 XKR with 183,000 miles on it. I bought her 3 1/2 years ago with 101K on the clock. The engine "was" making an odd ticking sound and, sure enough, 30K miles later I needed another one. The engine in the car now has 100K miles on it. In addition to the engine, I've changed the following:
Water Pump
Serpentine belts and pulleys ( a little squeaking had started)
Coolant Thermostat (she was taking time to warm and twice did not warm completely)
Some hoses (preventative only - no failures)
One front wheel bearing
One rear wheel hub assembly (replacing botched dealership repair!)
All four O2 Sensors (might not actually have been necessary)
Tranny filter and fluid (MERCON - works great!)
S/C Oil (actually made it quieter)
One Oil Cooler Hose (another one still weeps a little)
Coolant Reservoir (and the new one has the same tiny leak! - groan)
Front Upper Suspension Bushings (Holy smoke - they were shot. Replace yours NOW!!!)
She'll soon get a replacement steering column (tilt and telescope failed, of course), some new light bulbs in the dash and center console, and a repair to the driver's door card mounting points (opened and closed a "few" too many times - lol)
And there's a slight vacuum leak somewhere that throws a P0171 code now and then. I'll track it down, .... "someday". ;-)
She has driven through rain and snow and has taken a huge chunk of truck tread right to her snout at highway speed. Yet she still polishes up beautifully and the interior is pristine. Truly, the only indication of her age is the sand blasted windshield from all the highway miles (which I hope to replace next year). She absolutely loves to effortlessly cruise at 90 mph - lol. What a gal.

Is there more than one entry on CARFAX that is consistent with the 129,000 miles ? Typos do happen (both on mileage entries and also when VIN is entered on a service record). Odd thing with mine is that all service records through 2007 show up on CARFAX, but after that only the smog checks show. Fortunately I have the original service records from the local Jag dealer after 2007, but as I said none of those are listed by CARFAX. Also in CA once a car is 10 years old mileage does not have to be reported on sale and no mileage statement is required. Again though, the smog check record will show mileage accurately every 2 years.

I may be the SoCal car Jon89 was referring to as I have approximately 160,000 miles on my 2002 XKR. It looks nearly new, runs as well or better than it did when I got it (60,000 miles) 6 years ago. I alternate between my 2010 XKR coupe and my 2002 XKR convertible. Love 'em both for different reasons.
