How many miles will a XKR go

Well, I guess "someone" needs to post an actual number. Too bad that someone is ME!
I bought my '03 XKR "for a song" 16 months ago with some very, very slight ticking-clicking coming from the engine area and burning a bit of oil (1qt / 1K+ mi.). I figured a rebuild or replacement "might" be in my future, and budgeted about $4-5K for that (boy, was that estimate off!).
I've driven her 30,000 miles since 6/12 and she's been wonderful. Smooth; powerful; damn near totally asymptomatic. However, three weeks ago (131,000 miles on the odo) she started coming apart and I had to abandon her to a local mechanic while I was in mid-trip. I seem to have spun two major bearings and trashed the crankshaft beyond equitable repair. He found a 50K mile engine within a three hour drive, and we went for the replacement instead.
A note of curiosity here: Based on some of the references here I put a can of Restore in the last oil change. Sure enough, oil consumption went down a little and even better, the clicking noise went away. But then.....
(we need an emoticon with a mushroom cloud - lol)
I obviously don't have enough information to establish causality between the Restore and my engine failure, but there "is" correlation of course (you economists/statisticians know what I'm taking about).
Total bill will end up approaching $8K. But I guess it could have been worse (re: photo)
