Hydraulic hose connection to pump

Hydraulic hose connection to pump
I have replaced the two latch hoses on XK8 with a genuine Jaguar kit, not repair kit but complete latch to pump hoses with correct fittings and clips in correct places etc. My question is.... as these are not marked, I just want to be sure they are fitted correctly, which is the outlet fitting on pump and which is inlet on latch? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys for help. I disconnected hose from latch, using compressed air was able to determine which hose was the inlet hose and connected to correct fitting on pump. Filled with new fluid, pressed switch and away it went. The hose kit I used was HJB 8256 AB from Jagbits in US. It has all the clips fitted in the correct position and was relatively easy to fit. It is manufactured in Netherlands using and better quality hose and fittings and is a little more rigid than original hose so some care has to be taken where it needs to be bent around fittings etc. I hope this is the last time I have to do this job.

I need to write this down once and for all. Call the two hose fittings on the pump body upper and lower. Which one gets the hose that is pressurized to open the latch? TIA.

I have completed job of replacing two latch hoses in XK8. Removing and refitting interior is relatively easy as there are a number of posts describing how this is done by members in the forum. Being a right hand drive car some steps were not required. I think the most difficult part was removing old hose where it passes through bulkhead into boot. Original hose was tied in with wiring loom with a number of cable ties which are anchored to body. I cut old hoses as fittings would not pass through cable ties as I did not want to disturb wiring loom. New hoses were cable tied to outside of loom and I was able to get hoses and fittings through grommet in bulkhead without to much trouble. New hose kit is marginally longer so fitting was easy.
