Made a call this morning to Polyflex division in the states. Appears they knew of the hose I was asking about (363) to the point of asking me if this was on a convertable top system for a Jaguar or BMW. The 363 hose has been discontinued as well as the end fittings. Reading back through previous threads I've learned this is not new news.
They are going to contact Polyflex division in Germany for me and see if I can still get some answers on the discontinued hose such as, skiving issues, mawp, temp and approved reusables.
That being said, the hose from Polyflex that replaces the 363 is as follows.
Polyflex 2000 series
Part#: 2020N-02V30
I.D.: 0.12" / 3mm
O.D.: 0.24" / 6mm
Max working pressure w/2.5:1 safety factor 9,280psi / 64.0 MPa
Max working pressure w/4:1 safety factor 5,800psi / 40.0 MPa
Burst pressure: 23,200psi / 160.0 MPa
Temp Range: -40F - +140F / -40C - +60C

These were discontinued when? If it was some time ago does that mean that hoses that have been replaced in existing cars over the last year or so are the new ones or the old (discontinued) ones? If I look at the hoses that run into the pump I guess I should be able to see something written/stamped on the outside that would indicate what they are. What should I be looking for?

That temperature spec jumped right out at me. I'm assuming the other performance specs get degraded if you operate outside this range (and it appears we do). Any way to quantify that?

So again--when did the 363 hoses get discontinued? Was there some particular model year where we would expect to see the newer hoses in XK8/XKR or did Jaguar just keep using the 363 until stock ran out? Similarly, are the replacement hoses that Jaguar uses merely old stock 363 or are those the newer hoses?

I called a Jaguar dealer in Charlotte, NC this am and asked the parts guy to pull the replacement hose set and read me what is printed on the hose. He told me it says
" 1907 2010 2.3mm " on the hose. I don`t know if I should use this hose (if I don`t buy the stainless braided hose from Colliflower) or not.....cost at the dealer was $ 331.50.

I just took a peak at the hoses going into and out of the pump. Mind you I had hoses replaced by the dealer about two years ago due to leaking at the latch. In notice at least 2 of the hoses are Powerflex 363 and the others are Powerflex 2010.
So what does that mean? And, Gus, maybe you have a handy schematic that shows which hoses are going where?

DON'T BUY THE HOSE FROM THE DEALER!
Get the Coliflower kit. It's cheaper and far higher quality. Installation is a breeze. Installing it is not much different than installing a OEM replacement. My Jag mechanic had never seen the Coliflower kit before and said it didn't take any longer to install compared to the OEM hoses, even with the replacement fittings. He clipped the old hoses off and used the old mounting brackets with the new hose. He was just as impressed with the kit as I was.

I may be a little short on my answers but will try to answer your questions. Just a little tired. We just got in from seeing our new granddaughter. A great few days.
The temperature in the header was measured to be 150F taken both on 5/23/09 & 8/3/09. The temperature in the trunk 104F and inside the car 147F & 151F.
As for the change of the fluid you are correct that it is in and out but eventually it will mix with the old. It is recommended that the fluid be drained in the hose but my take on this is that the fluid never jelled. The only reason anyone was given that answer is because they did not know why the hoses were failing.
Walt and I made every effort to contact Parker & Parker US wanted to help but told us the hose was a metric hose and was developed by Parker in Europe for Power Packer and they would not respond or assist in any info on the 363 hose. The comment that this hose was discontinued I not entirely correct. Cigar Guy I hope you get additional info, I think they did not respond because they knew the history of the hose.
In the 1997 production of the car a 600BAR (8702PSI) hose was used made by Power Packers. If a upgraded hose was used in the MY 1997 – 2006 I would like to see it.

I bought my 2006 XK8 from a local Jaguar dealer December 2010. The dealer gave me previous maintenance records. Included - July 8, 2010...
"Customer states conv top is inop and fluid is coming out of header panel

I just looked at the convertible pump and wrote down what I saw on one of the hoses. I did not look at all of the hoses, so others might say something else. It said...
QC 24937 01 1-Q-05 Parker Polyflex 363 1/8" ID DN 3
1-Q-05 looks like it might be the date of manufacuture (1st quarter 2005). If so, makes me wonder if that hose is original or one replaced in 2010. I hope it is new.
By the way, I installed the pressure relief valve several months ago. So far the top works fine. The fluid level is fine.
