I just realized something, wanted to share it in case you never noticed it either.
I just realized the darn pannel is slotted see photo - there is no need to remove the two screws at the bottom, they just need to be loosened. The panel slips right off!
If you've been there you know what it is like to reinstall, balance and align this pannel without yanking the valet switch into several pieces, while trying to align and insert these 2 screws. Of course by now you've probably been working under the dash for a couple of hours in cramped spaces and losing light as the sun sets. With all that these screws don't always go in so easily, but I'm preaching to the choir.
This one is obvious but what the heck if you haven't see it yet it will save you a couple of minutes and get you to your cold beer faster. Every little bit helps so I am passing it along.
see slots at bottom of pannel.
