Default I think my ECM has issues

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice, my 2000 Jaguar xk8 all of a sudden started running rough I look at the diagnostic codes and the were all related ignition P0352, P0353, P0355, P0356 P0358 and P1368 (this is and Ignition branch #2 malfunction.). It doesn't seem to be related to one bank so I think my ECM may have an issue. Has anyone experienced this type of failure. I've read some threads of capacitors leaking but I didn't see any evidence of this on the circuit board of my ECM. Also, is the anywhere i can send the ECM to be diagnosed? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Very similar to what l just had on my xkr, but mine was other coil group.
l think you may have a failed coil by way of internal short. Best start is probably unplug the coils and check each for a short between pin #1 and pin #2 (short to ground) and also between pin #2 and pin #4.(short to bat +)
If you have such a short it will take out all four coils in the group.
The odd coil out (2B/p0356) may also just be a coincidental coil failure.

The PCM is not high up the list of suspects.

baxtor,

You were right on the money, it was a coil pack. Thanks for the help!
