If only the XK looked like this

I forget who designed that concept but there is a thread on here somewhere. I think it was a modern iteration of the E-Type.
I like it, the back end needs a little work though. However as an XK (or even E-Type), it's too polarizing. It pushes the envelope. XK, XJS and E-Type are supposed to be the envelope. They have a style, class and senses elegant and simple sofistication that the competition tries to emulate. This particular design doesn't have that. At least not with that backend anyways.

With some small modifications it surely looks interesting. Here is a link to the company that made the drawings: http://www.viztech.se/
They consider making them pending demand, price I heard was about $1.000.000.

Wire wheels
I saw an XK8 with wire wheels last summer on a lot and it was sold in a snap. Really pretty. You can get them (tubeless) for the XK8 from wire wheel specialists and they are not any more expensive than a typical set of good wheels. I drive mine year 'round so I'd have to swap them off in the winter so there's an extra set of tires to pay for.
I was flipping through my motorcycle magazine and saw an article on new wire wheels with S/S spokes and color-anodized caps, etc. Really sexy. There are greater side loads on motorcycles and wire wheels are more flexible...

By contrast, every turn in a car is putting significant side loads on your wheels. Let's say you're driving a Corvette that can take a turn at 1G. I'm not sure how much a Corvette weighs, but let's just say it weighs 4000 pounds. At 1G that's 1000 pounds of side loading on each wheel (actually it's more on the outside wheels and less on the inside wheels, but you get the point).

I saw this a while back, I think they have done the rear very well, definately caught the E Type essence. I hate the front, why the double lights? The only Jag that had those was the XJs, why make it look like that? Let alone that they remind me more of a Merc, sacrilegious!
I am with Rev on the wire wheels, not a fan, although they do look good on that retro style. I deal with wires on a daily basis with the old classics that are laying around this place, Austin Healey 3000, E Types and MGs, they all have them, I would fit mini lites!
