Default I'm back....'new' 2003 XKR Coupe in the garage

My 1997 XK8 Coupe was not repairable from a front end accident last Oct2000.
Took almost 12 months to find a replacement but it finally arrived after purchasing in August. Failed local inspection [tinted tail lights and e brake needs adjusting] which I will take care of before re-inspection.
Wheels were refurbished as part of purchase and look fantastic.
Montreal, Quebec to Vancouver, BC so it will enjoy year round fun going forward [save a few snow days].
Happy X100 owner, operator and tinkerer once again.
Chris

Hi again!
When I had my 1997 XK8, we chatted about an auto wrecker I found in Vancouver that had a few X100 Jags. I went by this AM to see if they had any taillights. My car failed BC safety inspection due to tail light tinting so I wanted to see if an option was to swap in used untinted to pass inspection. This car does look good all tinted. Anyhow, the address is now vacant. I called SilkCat while looking at the empty lot and they confirmed the guy packed up and sent everything to the crusher.
Richmond Jaguar also expressed great sadness as I went there to see if my tail lights were factory tinted [no] and quoted $650/each new.
So I'm paying a collision / detailer $60 to remove the tints. Might be a DIY project but I did not want to risk damaging the units myself as I want them on the car ASAP for re-inspection this Sat.
Cheers, Chris

Chris......

I don't know what you Paid for it but the 20" BBS "Detroit's" are worth $1,250.00 each New! and it has the "R" Handling Package to Boot....I don't remember exactly what that Package cost but I think it was around $4,500.00 or so...Don't know what you paid for it but it looks like you probably got a good deal! And it's Black!!

Congratulations!

Congrats Chris on finding a late coupé in the west! And as Billy Clyde points out, with some choice options.

Cheers,

Granville
Also with a black, late, west coast coupé

Yeah Detroits and Handling pack were never cheap! Unsure what Dollar prices were in 2003, but below are the 2003 UK prices in GBP Pounds Sterling (From R-Performance Brochure Price list JLM/10/03/08/03).

Chris Hens,

Hello again! You seem to be have Tail Light Lens problems.....Is it possible that the previous Owner has replaced the Tail Lights with 2005/2006 Victory Edition Lens? I did this several years ago as they really look a lot better!!! If that is what has been done, they are "Stock" and should pass Inspection.....Send us a Photo of the Tail Lights and I'll let you know if they are....Also, I would like to see the Rear-End anyway!! Surely he didn't Spray them Black like the Front Marker Lights and the Blinker!

Thanks!

What a beauty. You have a rare car. When I bought mine, I did this pie chart to show how many made. Only 936off XKR Coupe's were made in 2003.
