the point is, if you can see more clearly with these upgrades then by definition, you must be emitting more light. Now all lights are angled to project towards the kerb but some is still emitted forwards and into the path of on coming traffic. Now if your lamps are projecting more light then regardless of whether that conversion is legal, the on coming traffic WILL receive more light than the standard fitment. No too bad if its on a motorway where you have the central reservation as a buffer as such, but on normal roads its irritating at best and downright dangerous for most of the time. The XK8 may well have had an HID option but I bet few , if anyone who does a conversion actually uses the original parts and I doubt that the pattern conversion parts are the same as what Jaguar intended for their HID option.
