Am i the only one who thinks the new xk looks like a large mouth Bass? It is definitely more aggressive looking, but these days every new car has aggressive looks. The first generation is just a better looking car that i believe will have styling that will age better. Another car that reminds me of a large mouth bass is the 58 Thunderbird,

I think I have come the closest to produce a 'cross breed' of the 2 Mks in reality
I thought that when you first posted some of your photos and I was looking through them. That one really is quite stunning. Keeps all the gorgeous curves of gen 1 and dresses it up to look a little meaner/edgier like the gen IIs.

And yes Waterloo, I can agree and go with your large mouth bass description. It is kind of reminiscent of one.

My main complaint about the front of the newer XK was the plasticky look, particularly the grill. I was at the LA Auto show a few weeks ago and there was an XKR on display. I was looking closely at the grill and touching it and I swear it felt/looked like chromed plastic. Am I wrong?

It might be "chrome" plastic but then again so is the grill of the Bentley Flying Spur at around $250,000.00

But the mesh grill on our vintage is real metal. To me the "chromed plastic" (if this is what it is) used on the new XK just has a cheesy look to it.
