I'm thinking of ditching my spacesaver.

I work at an auto manufacturing plant and we have both space saver spare and the fix a flat with a compressor depending on the option level of the car. The space saver spare is cheaper than the compressor and fix a flat, but is heavier. The decision for the fix a flat option was due to CAFE requirements. All cars shipped to Canada have space saver spare, the lower cost option. There are a lot of folks that just wont change a tire on the side of the road. There is a commercial on tv that is selling the roadside assistance benefit of their produce and bragging that a teen had roadside service instead of trying to change a tire. That is horrible!

Papa,
Agreed. Short of a physical limitation, if one is unable to r&r a tire, they should not be driving a car.
