Intake duct pulling off throttle body

Intake duct pulling off throttle body
2005 XKR, twice this month I have had the intake duct pull off of the throttle body, which creates a restricted performance state due no doubt in the difference between the front air flow sensor and the (barometric air pressure?) sensor at the throttle body.
The first time I thought it was a fluke, and simply jammed the duct back on, and tightened down the strap clamp. The second time, I broke a cheap screwdriver (girfriend's) tightening it.
Way back in the day, I had a Mustang with a 302 that would do this, turned out one of the motor mounts was ripped, causing the engine to flex under torque and thus pull away anything attached that did not have play.
Thoughts on why this is happening? Remember, the only stupid question is the one not asked....
