Interesting Roof Hose Leak Repair...

When I installed the pressure relief valve on my car last year I must have turned the pump in a way that caused a very slow but persistent hydraulic fluid leak at the metal collar on the end of the hose end where it is attached to the pump. I bought something called "Extreme Tape" from Duluth Trading Co online, cleaned the hose end with some methyl alcohol and wrapped it tight around the hose end a bunch of times. I didn`t remove the hose from the pump...I just wrapped it tight with the hose on the pump. I`ve had the top up and down many times now and so far no leak!!! It doesn`t look real pretty but I`m happy to say it has worked so far and saved me from replacing the hose. I know this is not the solution for the typical hose failure discussed on this forum, but for anyone with a leak like mine it may well be worth a try!
