Interior color combinations

Interior color combinations
I just put a antelope (AGE) steering wheel from an XJ8 into my oatmeal (AGD)-interior XKR, which according to everything I read is the correct color combination. My old steering wheel, however, has a tag saying that it's actually sable (AEK). Was this ever a factory combination for the 2001 XKR? My armrest and driver's seat don't match the passenger's seat, so it's quite likely the entire interior of my car is a mishmash of parts.

I think that the factory made some odd color pairings that may have been influenced by manufacturing costs. Though not quite as odd as your car seems to have. Pretty good bet that some stuff has bet replaced.
Stuff I have learned about AGD vs SDZ
Stuff I have learned about AGD vs SDZ
- Both Oatmeal AGD and Cashmere SDZ interiors use Sable AEK for the upper dash, steering wheel and kick panels..
- Both use the same AGD for A-pillar, sun visors and header.
- Seat belts are also common between AGD and SDZ, I think they are Sable too.
- Carpet is supposed to be Sable for both AGD and SDZ. However I've never actually seen a label anywhere in my SDZ interior to confirm that.

Jaguar has a MATRIX for interior/exterior paint/trim combinations.
Ignore the stupid page 5 MODEL YEAR VIN NUMBERS title.
VIN needs no NUMBERS as the term VIN means Vehicle ID NUMBER.
To state Vehicle Identification Number Number is REDUNDANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish people would stop the redundant idiocy!!!!!!!!
Just my pet peeve rant.
