Can I come and live in your shop? I won't be any trouble, I'll sleep in the corner, sweep the floors and not say a word. Can have a small bag packed in 15 minutes. Okay. So I'll pay rent too.

Yes sir it is. Behind that plug is ths main oil passage that runs the length of the block. On the 4.2l block the oil sprayers are threaded directly into this passage. I toyed with the idea of installing sprayers into my block as well. But with the realign It is just not needed in my opinion. When adding the ceramic coating there is all the heat control needed.

Just realized you're in my neck of the woods. This is looking great. Do I understand you are planning to provide these services for the DIY guys that want to assemble their own engine?

Wink cast iron

For this engine i wanted to reline for a few reasons, most importantly to prove that i can be done. All be it with some vary specific requirements involved to make it happen. I also wanted to keep the weight down and keep the improved heat reduction provided by the nikasil. Remember.. there is a reason jag put piston oil sprayers in after only 2 years of steel liners.. And cast iron sleeves/liners are vary heavy..

BUT... that being said, that is on my list of products to develop as there are limitations with nikasil liners under high boost.. and it creates limitations on what kind of rings you can use. For a vary high performance engine cast iron is the way to go..

Any details on the lsd/diff? I'm about to get an OS Giken lsd to install this winter, but would like to see what you have in mind.

A while ago, I came across an XJR (almost identical rear subframe/diff to XKR) that had a supercharged LS7 swap with a built Cobra rear end fitted.

It is well known that the older 15hu differential uses dana44 internals and is almost a direct swap in. It requires you to install the older xj rear mounting plate which is not the problem. The problem is that you have to modify the drive shaft to fit the 3 bolt flange that also uses a gwebo -sp? (big rubber bushing). I am working on a direct bolt in swap that utilizes a custom cnc machined flange that will bolt right up to your stock drive shaft. This differential will utilize all brand new components including your choice of Auburn limited slip or Dana Powerlock unit. I am also in the process of working on having the ability to custom tune the TCU so we will have our choice of rear gear ratios. the first set of prototype flanges are due to be completed this week. It will take at least a good solid month or so for testing and evaluation. I will let you know as soon as this is complete. That is also when I will be registering for vendor status on the board.

I typed this on my Android using Google Talk. Any misspellings or bad grammar is Google's fault not mine

Did you do cylinder bore measurements before and after? Were they really out of round?
How did they apply the silicon carbide material? Why is there need for special rings?
interesting.

Exclamation

@transamhun

I dont have my web site complete yet, but it do have the ARP bolts up on ebay if your intrested..

Jaguar AJ26 AJ26S AJ27 AJ27S 4 0L V8 Arp 2000 Connecting Rod Bolts | eBay

@stevepaa

Its not that they were out of round... After the reline process is complete, the thickness of the coating can change and create a situation of not enough piston to wall clearance.
Yes special rings are required do to the fact that if you have certain compounds in the rings, they will interact with the lining... this is not desired at all.... I could have used stock rings.. but i wanted to do something different..

One thing i did notice... do NOT always take for granted what is stamped on the block is correct... the Main bearing numbers stamped on my block were NOT correct...

When we installed the 15hu diff in my car we simply modified the length of the pinion & installed a non jurid 4 bolt flange.
