Jaguar AJ26S TO AJ27S?
Hello, i have `99 Jaguar XKR, with AJ26S engine broken. I have just bought an AJ27S engine in very good condition (production date: 06/07/2000). I want to replace the AJ26S with the AJ27S.
I have readed some posts about this situation and i have some questions... can you help me?
I think we need to use AJ27S but Exchange from AJ26S this ítems:
1) Throttle Body.
2) Coils with wiring.
3) Complete camshaft? or only the sensor, change the four lobes from aj27S to one lobe AJ26S.? We need to disassembly the camshaft?
4) Flexplate? is necessary?
5) Supercharger? from original AJ26S or "new" AJ27S?
6) We need to replace tensioners or skids?
Thanks for help!!!

You will need to swap the entire engine harness complete. The oil temp sensor remains UNUSED!!
Leave the right CMPS installed in the head to plug the hole. (not used for AJ26, remains unused)
The LEFT ('B'bank) cam reluctor (Needs single lobe) is the only one needed to change. (either entire cam + readjust valve lash or just the lobe if you can get it to stay in place TIGHT) TSB 303-08 explains how to adjust the reluctor lobe.
I did a complete write-up YEARS ago along with the story of the 'not-quite-complete' swap a customer did but could not get it to run properly. (he left the AJ27 torque conv drive plate)

TThanks for your answers and manual!
So in order to complete the work to do...
1) Refit old Throttle Body.
2) Coils with wiring. Engine harness complete.
3) Change reluctor from AJ26S to AJ27S in left B-Bank, or exchange complete camshaft żwhich is better?
4) Flexplate? is necessary?????? (I think yes...)
5) Supercharger? from original AJ26S or "new" AJ27S?
6) Check chains tensioners and guides. żReplace chains?
With this job done, AJ27S will run ok???
Many thanks!!!

The 'B'bank cam reluctor has to be the single lobe!!!! However you do it, does not matter.
The torque converter drive plates are all different between the 4.0 AJ26, AJ27 and A28.
You NEED to use the correct one. They have different number of segments and slots.
You can use either M112 S/C as long as the throttle body mount intake is for the AJ26.
