They are waiting on the next greater fool, who as a buyer of that car will most likely never appear.

 

Dealers refer to a car that has been on the lot for a year as "Having a Birthday".

 

Well, I deal with Royal Jaguar in Tucson, and they have been more than helpful with parts for my 99 XK8. I have a parts catalog from 96-98, and it has enough similarities to the 99 microfiche they use that they can usually hunt down the right part. They have a really good counterman (Jason) and once I get him on the hunt, he won't quit. He also always prints out their microfiche picture so I can have it, and make notes on it. I have only had the car there once for service, but it was done the same day I took it in, and they even washed it before they gave it back. They were very nice considering it was a 11 year old car that they didn't sell to me. I am about to rebuild the front suspension, and then will take it in to them for a wheel alignment, so we will see how that goes... but so far they have been great....
