Default Santa Barbara JAGUAR FESTIVAL, Who's going?

I was just wondering how many XK8/XKR's will be at the JCNA INTERNATIONAL JAGUAR FESTIVAL in SANTA BARBARA? I'm looking forward to this very much. I just bought my wife a 2000 XKR and I have been working on my 1959 XK150 DHC to get it ready to go. I hoping there will be a few X100. This sounds like it is going to be a great event. If you don't know about it here is a link.

Well I won't be there but I am guessing from your username that you will be sharing some great pics later, right?

Thanks for asking. I'd like to go although I'd skip the L A. parts and just focus in the Santa Barbara/Solvang bits and try to sneak in a visit to the Mullen automotive museum in Oxnard if possible. There's a cool little vintage motorcycle museum in Solvang also well worth a visit. I have been to the Peterson and it's great but don't want to go again badly enough to drive to and through L.A. again. Ugh! Altgough the Mulholland Drive run would be fun. Last time I drove that, a lot if it was still dirt! Guess that verifies that I'm older than...

I would like to have stayed at the event site S.B. Hilton (old Biltmore, right?) But it's apparently already all booked for the event. As several activities are in northern Santa Barbara County, I'll see what accommodations I can find in Solvang or Buellton.

Edit: I see now that the Hilton is not at all the Biltmore, which is still the Biltmore and which I see I cannot afford!

No, that's not a Noooo. Not even just a No. Not yet a for sure Yes but a definite Maybe! Have to figure out a few calendar issues at home to be sure but believe Wife and I will be going, to at least some parts of it. Looks like we can get a reasonable room rate at the Montecito Inn for a couple nights and will probably stay in Solvang or Buellton, on our way down and back, as several of the events are there and it's marginally closer to home.

I do want to meet a lot of other Jaguar aficionados and roam my old stomping grounds. When I went to grad school at UCSB, I had an XK-150 FHC and explored much of Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties in it.

I am sure I will attend at least the first 2 or 3 days. I know that Ralphwg of the X150 forum was instrumental in plotting the route from Los Angeles up to Santa Barbara. I can't stay for Sunday because my newly restored '72 De Tomaso Pantera will be entered in the French/Italian Car show at Woodley Park in the San Fernando Valley on Sunday, November 4th. The real hard decision for me is which XKR do I drive up, my restored 2002 XKR 'vert or my 2010 XKR coupe? Hope to meet some of you guys and gals up there.

I went through the event signup just now but at the end, after selecting payment method (no matter whether I select Paypal or Check), it stalls with a "LOADING" message displaying, with a circle of dots going round and round...

Okay, payment/registration done! I received an email from JCNA and used the payment link there and that worked. Hope I won't have occasion to cancel as reg is non-refundable...

Registration is through the local club --you should have a rec. from them. If you got one from JCNA I do not know what you ordered but that is refundable. --just checked the PP account--you must have done it correct as there is nothing in there from you (JCNA account).

Thanks. I was able also to book an ocean view room at the venue, for Thursday and Friday nights. Booked a room in Solvang for Wednesday night, on our way down. Thinking about staying Saturday night in San Luis Obispo, on our way home but will probably wait to book that, to keep some flexibility.

Unfortunately I will be unable to attend as we will be on the high seas with 5 other couples on a long planned cruise. I really am very disappointed that I/we can't make it. Oh well maybe next year.

Wow, Ralph; bummer for you! My wife and I did the cruise ship scene, once, and swore never again. I know for sure I'd rather be at a Jaguar meet.
