Jaguar xk8 exhaust
i have a jaguar xk8 1997 with the original exhaust. I was thinking in delete only the center muffler an put H. Or delete only the 4 rear muffler. What recomendation is the best? Or what you recomend with low cost. I want to hear the V8 sound without spending money. Best regards

my friend removed the rear boxes for straight pipe on his with a very good result. others have changed to different rear boxes which my friend might eventually do. center section work is touchy, pricey and might screw-up performance. work in the center might lead to the burble inherent to v-8's by design. our system eliminates that. note that there is a scavenging effect to the current design which is part of the design. you could gain sound at the expense of HP. once again, center system work requires engineering and understanding of expectations.

I went too far, putting straight through right from the centre box backwards - ie neither intermediate nor rear boxes present. Yes, sounded wonderful on hard acceleration. But it was so noisy it made conversation difficult and long journeys exhausting, so I replaced the straight through rear pipes with the original silencers (the straight through pipes will be for sale, btw). Still louder than original, with only the intermediate pipes replaced with straight through, but a nice compromise between engine thunder and serene driving.
So whatever you do decide to do, take it step by step, and think about your comfort. Let us know how you get on!

I fitted a new millex system with back boxes only, it sounds great; deep V8 burble and growl.
But it can be a touch noisy when cruising under load, i.e on a the motorway using cruise control its not to loud but when/if the there is a hilly section (lots where I live) its a bit noisy on the way up
