JTIS & adobe Reader not finding files
Hello folks
So I went out and found an old laptop with windows XP installed so I could get the JTIS download from this website to work and hey presto, it works....mostly. I keep getting the error message from Adobe Reader XI saying that it can't find the files I'm trying to open in JTIS, namely DTIS or error codes etc. So, am I missing something or are those pdf files not on the JTIS download? see pic or error message
I have tried uninstalling JTIS download and re-installing but same error occurs.

Adobe reader XI works with JTIS for me.
There should be a subfolder called DATA in the the folder which you extracted the installation to. Search for *.pdf in that folder & its subfolders to confirm the pdf files are actually there, and that you can open one by double-clicking on the entry.
Would help if Adobe reported which file it was looking for - and where - in the error message...

Hello again. I have checked the Data folder to look for pdf files and they are indeed there and they do in fact open up with adobe reader from the data files. Problem is that when I try to open them up from the JTIS I keep getting they same error message as before.
Good to know that the files are there but just a pain having work out yet another stupid JTIS issue.
Getting fed right up with JTIS, couldn't get it to work in Win 10 so I bought Win 7 pro only to find that WIN 7 pro wouldn't install on my original Win 8.1 laptop so bought an old laptop with XP as it's opperating system only to discover pdf files don't work on JTIS but they do open in Data folder yet everyhting else in JTIS works.
Feeling cursed.

It's strictly long past its sell-by date and 'idiosyncratic'. I imagine that Valley Forge has likely gone the way of the dodo.
Odd as I'd expect it to fail completely since all of the pictures, etc. are stored in the \DATA folder structure. I've been trying to emulate your issue of just the pdfs being unavailable in my install.
There is a file named JJTIS.INI in the folder C:\WINDOWS:- can you paste the contents of it here.

Hi Stephen,
JTIS on Windows XP can't handle the spaces in your installation path.
I suggest this:
1) Create a new folder on the C: drive. Call it 'JTIS21' - or whatever you like provided there are no spaces in the name
2) Copy the 3 compressed files (JTIS21 part1.exe, JTIS21 part 2.rar and JTIS21 part3.rar) to this new folder
3) Run JTIS21 part1.exe to recreate the installation files
4) Uninstall your existing instance
5) Run setup.exe in the new folder created above
It should now work properly after it reinstalls
The uninstall doesn't tidy up properly so you will need to manually delete the files in the location of your original installation - which seems to be c:\Documents and Settings\Workshop\My Documents\My videos\ If you're not sure what to remove, at least delete the DATA folder & the three compressed files to free up disk space.
Shout if anything isn't clear.
Best wishes,
Mike

Hooray, Sucess!!! Thank you Mike for your patience and understanding. Your latest "How To" instructions have born fruit my friend. The pdf files are now viewable and I finally have a working JTIS. Months it took me to get this program to work so many many thanks. God Bless.
Cheers Stephen
