Default key fob,fuel door,trunk release

Gentlemen:

Discovered about 2 in. of water in low point of my trunk (04 XKR). Cleaned everything up used fan and sun to dry, however, now fob nor fuel/trunk buttons don't work. If I lock the doors by key the door locks cycle about 3-4 times open/close. Checked fuses in trunks and on drivers side of engine bay, all o.k.
Any ideas?

thanks for your help.

The SLM (Security and locking module) sits below the trunk fusebox. It is not in a waterproof case. It controls these functions.

There are 3 bolts and some wire clips that need to be undone to lift out the fuseox and gain access to the SLM underneath. You should remove the module from underneath, open up its case and dry it out. Check for any corrosion on the circuit board or the connectors.

Do all of this with the battery disconnected.

Check fuse no.15 on driver and passenger sides facia boxes. On at least 2 times this was the culprit for the lock unlock cycling

Looks that that was it. Corrosion on one of the large plugs and corrosion on many spots on the board. Also burn mark by the white plug and the varnish burned off the wire where short occurred so I will order a new one. The unit says it's programmable what does that mean will this mean a trip to the dealer?

Once again thanks

There should be a sticker with a bunch of part numbers on the edge of the spare tire well (you might have to lift the carpet a bit to see it). Find the 'SLM' on the list. That will give you the part number and the 'VCATS' code, which is the software verision.

You cheapest alternative is to try to find a used one with the same part number and VCATS code on ebay or from a breaker. If you can only find one with a different or unknown VCATS code, the dealer may be able to reprogram it (check first). Otherwise a new one will run you probably into four figures.

Didn't find the sticker on anywhere in the trunk metal found it on the unit itself, hope it's the right number.
Once again thanks

Lift the carpet on the left side of the trunk. It should be on the ledge. You will need the three digit VCATS number, it usually is not on the unit.

Default security module

Update: the sticker on the unit had the right info, checked with the dealer they suggest part #LJE 2600AC, old part # is LJE2600AB, and yes you have to go to the dealer to get it programmed( can't verify that yet).
Query? Does anyone know of a rebuilder or repair center for these modules dealer price is $800.

Once again thanks
