Leather Trim Paint

Leather Trim Paint
Anyone know where you can get a leather paint to match Jag trim code NED on a 2002 XK8. It's the Ivory color and my "baby" is begining to show a little wear on the arm rest. The dealer claims no knowledge of such an after market product but does admit that Jag leathers are painted, not dyed.

Here are two sources I've used. Both sell code-matching color dyes and paint.

Be careful. I tried matching the color of the leather on the steering wheel of my 2001 XK8 and, after three slightly different selections, I still haven't found a perfect match for the original color. Leather ages and, even after cleaning and treating the leather, the paint/dye color may look diffferent, despite the fact that is sold as a code match.
Without a perfect match, I had to paint all the leather on the wheel. Now it neither feels nor looks like leather. If I win the Power Ball Lottery, I might replace the steering wheel -- to the tune of $600+

I would have sent you to Leatherique also as I have been very happy with their products. But, the Jaguar leather is painted with a vinyl/latex paint as I understand it, and you are not 'dying' the leather in a repair. I have seen several very good restoration efforts in used cars that matched the original color very well. Always questioned the life of such work.
Why don't you Google 'leatherique' and get a number to personally discuss with them. They are a small South Carolina company and seem to support their customers very well. No, I don't own stock it them. Oh, that is another forum!

I know my local dealer has a guy that comes around to retouch interiors. Because he already knows the color codes and can compensate for worn and faded colors he can do a very good match. I had him do a worn spot on my seat and he did a great job....less than $100. Check around and see if these guys exist in your area. BTW, I'm surprised your dealer doesn't use this kind of service.
