Level of expertise to replace tensioners?

I need to get my Jag checked out for this issue, as well as the convertible top fix. I have a local mechanic shop who has done work on several of my vehicles over the years and I have come to trust them. Is the replacing of the tensioners issue one that would require an experienced Jag mechanic, or is it something that any competent mechanic shop should be able to do?

Competence is the only real requirement. The special tool to hold the camshafts and the plug to insert into the flywheel wouldn't hurt. The engine needs to be locked against turning when the chain is removed and the camshafts need to be held in position because when the chain is removed valve spring pressure will turn the camshafts. This all assumes you are talking about secondary tensioners only. Primaries require more tools with the most crucial being the installer for the crankshaft pulley as the Jaguar v8 has no key on the crank and if you try to torque the pulley with the pin holding the flywheel it will most likely be damaged.

Im thinking if these guides are like the ones in the older Mercedes,(which was a week link) & I am surprised they are still fooling around with them! but iv done it in an MB. Defenitly a diy, but don't be cramped for time, the proper tools, garage, & someone on the forum who will be there for you, who has done it befor.
