License Plate Light Removal

Does anyone have a good trick or tool for removing the bulbs? Cannot get fingers on it and I think pliers would be destructive. Thanks.

Solved! Nitryl glove gave enough grip to remove.

I sometimes used needle-nose with rubber bands around the jaws.
Good idea with the gloves.
