Anyone know how close a 2002 Lincoln LS V8 motor is to the Jaguar version. I came across a new factory 2002 Lincoln LS V8 crate motor at an auction from a defunct Ford & Lincoln dealership. I was wondering if the long or short block would be a substitute for the 2000 Jaguar V8 . The Lincoln engine does have the VVT as well.

Thanks for the info. Yep, paid $950 at the auction. Went to buy a 2 post lift and ended up with a motor, oh well.
It will now go into a friends XK8 that spun a rod bearing when a cheap Chinese made jobber oil filter collapsed inside and blocked the filter outlet. Now he understands why I use Mahle, Mann or Royal Purple filters .............. His $39.99 oil change is going to be expensive.

Thanks Gerry, Jim's wife will be happy, I thought it would fit. Glad to see you joined the forum. There is a lot of info that will help with keeping your new mid life crisis on the road.
Why don't you make a video of the engine swap, I'm sure it will be of interest to other folks.

Here is some more info, I think you need to do the same extra's as for the Range Rover Block:

Would still swap the cams/vvt unit over from your "old" setup, so at least you know it will work for your ECU.

Thanks very much for the info. Looks like the LS motor is a close fit for the Jag. I will start the swap at the weekend with Paul 's ( Cerberos ) help and see what is needed.
From the information , I should be able to use most of the Lincoln motor and re-use the Jag cams.
