Look familiar? 'A' drum split
I don't mind so much that the guy I bought the car from said the trans' had been rebuilt. (now I'm questioning whether or not the tensioners were actually done.) I don't even mind so much that last Friday night, just pulling away from a stoplight, that the trans' wound up, didn't move much, then went WHAM! into gear. (Had a good idea what that meant.) What bothers me is that just a few weeks ago I had to pull the trans' to replace the rear main seal after it had decided to let go in my best friends' driveway. (Could have been worse - it could have run out of oil and locked up.) Oh well, at least now I can have the trans' out in less than an hour...
Took a number of pics, will try to put together a 'How-to' sometime next week after I have a chance to reassemble.

Practice makes perfect?
Yep. I've got to where I can do a round trip into the throttle body in less than two hours including R&R, APP sensor tweak, draining & refilling some coolant, and turn the key. Reminds me of my old '57 chevy; I could limp into the driveway and have the clutch on the ground inside of 30 minutes. Practice.

What a drag to have that happen after just having the tranny out. Yes I and others I am sure look fwd to any pics you might post as most if not all of these transmissions are a ticking time bomb. I have 80000 miles on mine and going to do a fluid change this summer. Though I do expect one of these days , bang !!!
