2003 Jaguar XK Series XKR Convertible - Silver

I'm going to look at it on Monday. $20K seems like a very good price for an 03 XKR with only 45K miles on it. I think I actually prefer my wheels, and I have almost new tires, so if I trade up for the XKR I might swap wheels. If I trade up I'll get to start all over with the rear window switch, the antenna switch, wheel speed sensors, bushings, spark plugs...

Nice car. I like your current rims but those Detroit rims are my favorite!

Looks nice... I see got the bug for a SC model after your test drive of the S-Type R.

Take a look at the last picture of the right window, it looks like it's not sealed properly, is the door window too high or the rear window not completely raised?

I hate you Americans and your availability and affordability. My 98 XK8 cost me $14 000 or so which is cheap by Canadian standards and here you are picking up a 2003 XKR for a fraction more. Not. Fair. At. All.

If you get it, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Happy hunting!

My XKR was less than $14,000.

Nice!

I'm thinking along the same lines... I want a matching triple black 06 XKR now like this one.

Hey Sam. Think you will love the xkr. Is it worth doing all the work you have done on your all over again? Only you can answer that, but once tasting the power of the "r" it might be hard to go back. ha. You already know most everything to check, but take a close look at the detroit wheels. Especially for curb rash on the trim rings. Every one of mine has some curb rash and it's a relatively expensive fix. Even if you do it yourself, something like $200 per wheel. That would give you a nifty video to make though. ha Those wheels do show off the nifty jag brembo calipers nicely though. Good luck, hope it turns out to be the car of your dreams. OK, it's not a maserati, but it's still pretty nice. Let us know what you do.

Not only will you have to do all that work again, but you'll need another photo with your pet raven.

Nice, but you're going to have to redo all those tweaks you've made to your XK8. Not a great fan of Detroits...

Sam
The Silverstone was the first XKR with the Detroits and 20" wheels and tires so they came with my car. At first I didn't like the looks until I saw them on the car now I love the look, the real nice thing about them are the ease of cleaning, Our Lexus had wheels with about 10 or 12 spokes they were such a hassle to clean in between every spoke. After acquiring the Jag with the Detroits I actually got our Lexus the factory five spokes on it. Friarshuck is correct the Detroits really show off the Brembos, and the trim rings are available out of England and they cost about $250.00 with shipping and I bought them about a year and a half ago so the price may have gone up. You'll love the performance of the supercharger
Good Luck

That's a good price for that year and miles. I like it. Great color combo. You need to start doing some fixits on the R anyway, so we can save some more money, haha! Good luck, Rev.

My 00 XKR Vert cost $10,600. It was only 45 miles away too. Just gloating, that's all.

Very true. When I was struggling to sell my pristine 1995 Corvette I mostly got ridiculous low-ball offers from other folks in California. Then a guy in Alberta called who was embarking on a Corvette-buying road trip and was interested in my car and one or two others in Oregon. He said these went for much more in Canada and I confirmed this by browsing the Canadian Autotrader site--prices were about double what I was asking.

Yeah, but back then Canadian dollars were worth half of what they are today. At least in comparison to US dollars.

Not yet. I've been busy at work. I'm going up that way tomorrow, so I'll look at it then.
