But hey, I guess differing tastes are what make the automotive world such an interesting place.

Cheers,
They are beautiful colours I agree, I just don't think they look that good on a Jaguar. Maybe they look better in person. I don't know. I've never seen one. In all the pictures I've seen, they look... faded and uneven. Maybe they just don't photograph well?

But I definitely hear you about the Vettes. Bright red Vettes (C5s look good in red though) are crazy popular around here. I'd love to see a silver one for once.

I'm glad XKs aren't popular. Makes us all that much more special. Seeing a twin, like Rev did, is even more special. Seeing a twin with a boosted engine is like triple special. Hopefully he can find another.

Corvettes are about as common as Mustangs around here. I see them everywhere. I don't even notice them anymore. They are awesome cars. The performance you get for the price is incredible. But because of that I think there are at least 5 or 6 in my neighborhood. I have no doubt that there are more Corvettes than Camrys in my neighborhood. And then when it comes to yellow, I don't think ANY car should be yellow. Maybe Dodge Neons are acceptable in yellow, but Corvettes??? Has anyone noticed that XK8s were never available in yellow? There's a reason for that.

I don't know, Sam. My dad had a 1967 442 in a pale-ish yellow with a black vinyl top, and it was gorgeous. (And, yes, I wish it was still in the family!!!). I also had a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T convertible that was bright yellow (my roommate called it YELLER) with a black top, the black R/T stripe along the side and factory Magnum 500 wheels. (And, yes, yes, yes, I really wish I still had that one!) That was one fine looking machine too, but in those days I was much more interested in calling attention to myself. Maybe that's why I don't like yellow 'Vettes. They just seem to shout: "Look at me. Ain't I just about the coolest dude on the whole planet?" Now, I prefer the more subtle: "Ahem, I'd like to point out that it just might be possible that I'm one of the coolest . . . ."

Cheers,

The E-Type was available in this custard yellow colour. Not my taste, though.
