Looking for a plenum (cowl) cover, part HJA3833AL...hmmmm...
Hello guys;
I'm looking for a new (or near new) plenum cover, sometimes referred to as the cowl cover. This is the long plastic piece along the base of the windshield...the wipers and washer jets come up through it.
My local dealer and Gaudin are both saying the part is not available. Any thoughts? I suppose I'll have to try and source something used...which may not look much better than the piece I've got. That's disappointing...this piece is highly visible and mine was cracked by a previous owner.
Let me know if you have any bright ideas, fellas. Part in question is labeled as number 1 in the diagram below.

Actually (at least on the earlier models) they were originally painted with Jaguar Dorchester Gray with a semi-gloss clear coat.
I have made invisible repairs in ABS plastic by reinforcing the repair from behind with scrap metal or plastic cemented with JB Weld. Once the repair sets, use a Dremel tool to grind out some material along the visible side of the crack. Then overfill the gap slightly with JB Weld. Once it sets, you can sand the area with progressively finer sandpaper to make the crack surface smooth. Then prime, lightly sand and paint.

I visited this car wrecking yard once or twice when I was looking for the ashtray insert on the 2005 XKR I had bought. They had a very good stock of all types of Jaguars, particularly XK8 and XKR. You might want to email them or give them a call:
