Don’t know for sure what was restraining the donut from moving freely but it worked for me. Lights been off for 5 months now.
This worked perfectly for me. First time I just spun the doughnut around on the hollow shaft. No change still had the low coolant light. The hollow shaft felt rough like it had some contaminant on it. Tried again and put downward pressure on the doughnut. It unstuck and slid to the bottom of the shaft. No more light!! Of course it is important that the doughnut be able to move up and down the hollow tube so that you will get the proper indication if you do lose coolant. I will probably try to run a small terrycloth around it and work it back and forth to clean off whatever is crudding up the tube.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try this first before replacing the tank.

Whatever coolant you use it is important not to mix the types/colours.
If you do mix the two it can congeal into a sort of gel causing all sorts of coolant issues.
So if you do change make sure the system is fully flushed out.
Or just always use the correct long life coolant.

It's a few years since Greenbrook22 was last active on here.

Default Low coolant light

Mine comes on occasionally. When I open it up it is a cup or 2 low. Not sure why it comes on but it makes me think to check it more often.
