Lowering Complete
I had the Mina REAR Lowering Springs installed today at Jenkins Volvo-Jaguar (Milwaukee, Wi) and the results are very Satisfactory.
The height of the Rear Arch to Ground is now identical to the front dimension. The rear sits about 1.25" Lower than before.
The clearance between the top of the Tire and the Arch is actually 1/4" less at the Rear than at the Front now (but, of course, the rear tire is slightly greater in diameter than the Front).
The Ride Stiffness is Unchanged. The Mina Springs are "Progressive" and will stiffen at High Vehicle Loads.
Cost: Mina Rear (only) Springs. $250 inc. Shipping.
Labor: 4hr @ $115/hr----------- $460.
Total:----------------------------- $710

All XKs look like they are up on stilts, it was only the later cars that looked a little lower, Jaguar never bothered doing anything about it, from what I understand it so the US guys can fit snow chains easier. It was one reason why Jaguar introduced CATS suspension, and what a PITA that is!
I lower XKs all the time, I have 2 in shop at moment I am doing, always a mod I would recommend to have done if only for appearance sake.

Old thread but I'm finishing my Arden kit this weekend and HAVE to lower the back. It actually makes the rear look even higher!! Actually the space between wheel and arch looks larger.
I assume that lowering the rear only will also lift the nose by the same amount, not the tire to arch space, just the nose. Believe me that's not an issue if it does due to the low front air dam addition. I actually hope it does!!

Edit: Actually, lowering the Rear will "Pivot" the Front up by a Very Small amount.
