Glad both you and your car made it through the winter. Out here on the other end of Canada it's not spring yet. We had 20cm of snow today with howling NE winds. I figure at least another month before my car sees the road.

7 years into the conversion and it is turning out to be one of the best things to ever have happen to me.
Thank you all for the support post heart attack. I am coming to grips with the new limitations and I have to say that as long as I can maintain and drive the Jag, life is good.

Hey everyone, time to hibernate the kitty for another winter season. I could drive it year round up here but there's no point with the rain we get in the winter months. But here we are 8 years after the swap and no issues at all. What a joy this car is to drive. We love the interest from the public too. I am so fortunate to have this car. A dream come true from my matchbox jaguar as a kid. I hope everyone is having fun, loving life and staying safe.

Another year, another great excuse to drive the XK8. Yup, spring has sprung, Kitty is back on the road and running great.8 years after the LS1 swap, Who knew? Proof in the pudding, yes? We are so happy to yet again be able to enjoy our Jaguar. I am two years and change since the big one and I am better than I expected, back at work (deskjob), and ready to drive. Although my endurance is compromised I can still do a few hours of driving in a day and that will get us where we need to go. Count the little blessings.
It is my hope that everyone who is fortunate enough to acquire a Jaguar, of any type, savors the moment each time they climb in. We sure do!

Skooba, I would love to get a look at your Jag. I have an 01 XKR and live down Island in Crofton. I love the car but worry about the weak open differential rearend. Did you change out yours or leave it stock?

Another year gone by and Kitty got into hibernation a little early this year. I think it's the fuel pump. Due to circumstances beyond my control I cannot work on the Jag right now. I will get to it in the near future. I am cutting a hatch to pull the fuel pump as dropping the tank is not an option for me. Where there's a will there's a relative! I will find a way. Even though this event has occurred I am still so grateful just to have it in the garage. I hope everyone has a joyful holiday and a very happy new year.

Well spring has arrived and I am finally in a place where I can work on the Jag. I cut an access hole in the deck lid where the convertible top (hood) retracts into. Easy to get to it after I pulled the back seat and one brace out. The access to the pump is so much easier than dropping the tank. Why an access hatch is not a standard thing is beyond me. I will have a chat with my local fabricator on options to close it and secure it in a way that it can be accessed again.
Note: I am not recommending anyone do this as there is always a risk when sparks fly near a fuel system or tank. I disconnected the battery as well.
The fuel tank is very close to the deck lid so I cut the metal with at cutting wheel on a handheld grinder but not all the way through, except for about an inch on each side where I went all the way through so I could use a short single hacksaw tool (not shown) to cut through the paper thin metal I left behind in each seam. I did not cut the top piece between the vent holes and it serves as a hinge of sorts. I also put a water soaked pair of sweatpants on top of tank between the deck and the tank to arrest sparks. I admit this process was quite unnerving as I am only really afraid of fire and my wife LOL. Once it into the tank imagine my surprise when I discovered that the hose on the top of the pump had popped off with the clamp intact. Obviously this was done by someone who didn't do it properly as the clamp was too large and compressed in an oval shape instead of round. I reconnected it with a new clamp and kitty fired right up. I will replace the pump and filter anyway as why go through all this to leave an old pump in the tank. My buddy that owns a parts store looked up the pump and filter. We live far away from each other so I ordered it from Rock Auto, Delphi pump FE0200 and filter FS0092. I took a before and after pic of the cut. I am so happy to be back on the road today. I will do another post when I change the pump. The 7mm bolt to hold the pump is a real nut buster. I am going to drain the tank next time.
It will 10 years since we did the swap and fired her up on April 14 2014. Thank you Andrew from Jaguar Specialties who still stays in touch to this day.
