Luggage Rack - XK8
I have been looking for the old style "luggage rack for my '99 for road trips. I found Classic Luggage Racks - Classic Luggage Racks Home Page and their price is reasonable. Has anyone used them? Comments? They are based in UK.
Thanks!

Take a look at Moss Miata, probably the same racks as you are looking at and in the US.
MossMiata.com - Parts & Accessories for Your Mazda Miata
The XK8 truck is huge, can't see where a luggage rack would be needed when combined with the space in the rear seat area.

I just don't know, sometimes I like the look of a luggage rack and sometimes not. My gut tells me any British sports car MUST have a luggage rack but then I realize that the XK8/R is very far from being a " sports car" and is just to big for the look of a luggage rack. But what the heck it's your car do what you want.
Tomorrow I'll probably change my mind and get one myself...

My father in law has been manufacturing racks like this for 50 years, though not specific to the X100, they will adapt to many cars. If you Google Surco Trunk Luggage Rack, one of the first entries is Auto Anything and there are more than 90 reviews, the vast majority of which praise the quality and fit (for many cars like the BMW Z3, Miata, etc...). And everything is made in Los Angeles, CA. My 96 year old father in law still works Monday-Friday from 5am-4pm, and does the lathe work and assembly, while his grandchildren work in the office and do sales!
He wears me out, he has so much strength and energy. Simply an amazing human specimen (and many nice products including the best bike racks in the industry).

My vote is to leave well enough alone- these didn't come with them from the factory and mar the lines of these modern classics. Cool on a XKE, but I can't imagine one on mine. The trunk suffices plenty well enough!
That is awesome, tberg! to him.

I have never needed additional luggage space with the XKR since the boot and rear seats seem to accommodate everything my wife and I need on a road trip.
When I owned an MGB I used a "Boot Bag" (Car Luggage Rack | Car Boot Rack | Convertible Luggage Rack) which can be moved from one vehicle to another. Fully waterproof and does not leave any marks on the paint.
