Main Drivetrain to Chassis Ground

Main Drivetrain to Chassis Ground
Recently noticed the main ground strap from the right front body (chassis) to the drive train had some Green tint in the woven portion between the 2 connection points. Removed the bolt (13mm or 1/2") at the body point near Rt. Front lower control arm. Then loosened the same size bolt on the drive train located on the right side of transmission to engine mounting behind right Cat. Was unable to remove due to clearance, but cleaned both connections, added silicone dielectric grease and re tightened the bolts. Prior to this, the engine cranked OK, but sometimes it required several seconds of cranking before it fired and started properly. Now, it cranks and fires immediately without a long period of cranking (5- 7 seconds). FWIW, I think this enhanced the start procedure by reducing any resistance than had accumulated over the years. The other main power connections (+) had been tightened earlier. Now the main (-) are also tight. Perhaps adding a second ground strap elsewhere would be prudent? Should 1 break, the other would be your fail safe savior.

Yes, the bolt near the Cat. was tight. It required a offset box end, 1/2" wrench. Also had to use a "cheater" to loosen, but it finally gave up. Your ground was obviously bad. Mine had a bit of the green, but was solid. The opposite end was attached to the right fame rail with a captive nut and bolt. Your pics are helpful, if someone has not seen this before. May still add another ground, JIC.
