^^ What is your Dual 1228 not doing?

Just checked the service records on my Dual 1218. In February 1988 I had it cleaned and lubed for $50 at a well-respected local audio shop that is no longer in business. In September 1999 I had it cleaned and lubed again, had an intermittent skating issue resolved, and had an intermittent issue of it not shutting itself off when an LP finished playing resolved, all for $100 by a different well-respected local audio shop that is no longer in business....

In May 2019 I learned of a guy in Des Moines, Iowa named Bill Neumann who specializes in restoring Dual turntables to like-new condition. His phone is (515) 240-4660 and his website is www.fixmydual.com. My 1218 will be 50 years old next year and because I continue to play it nearly every day and expect to do so for the rest of my life, at some point I will be shipping it to him for what I hope will be its final restoration....

When I try to turn it on, the Start Stop lever stays stuck in start but the turn table doesn't move.
I'll check the website.

Two reasons.

First, MDs are always last to know, especially in orthopaedics.
Second, by analogy with the Jag, to fix your knee, you need to spray it up your nose. I'd wait until pollen season when the nose is clogged anyway. Secondary benefit is that the lithium smooths the bipolar highs and lows, if any.

I was watching late-night TV while half asleep last night and I could swear I heard a commercial pushing white lithium grease along with Viagra....

Thanks for the great advice. And it also clears the sinuses? I thought my highs and lows came from owning several XK8's. Handy to know it's bipolar. Wonder if my doctor will write a prescription for white lithium grease? Wait, it's over the counter which solves that problem. Go to your local parts store to find help for mental health issues.
