Oh, one more.

If you implement the oil pressure sensor and HKS CAMP 2, I now have a custom made, one piece tee adapter available for the oil pressure sensor. These were developed for the RealGauge product, but can be also used with the HKS. Cost is $65 and it includes all required seals.

I have the Nameless 200 cell cats and the Mina exhaust, with the original crossover muffler in the center.

Default Ipod audio

I did not see instructions for Ipod audio hook up. Is this included in these instructions? Very impressive project. I intend to install some of this myself. Thanks.

There are a number of posts on the forum regarding hooking up an Ipod, but if you are planning some of these other mods also, and/or a Bluetooth wireless phone upgrade, it is best you listed all the upgrades you want to do. Recommdendations might differ based on your plans.

I have been reviewing the other posts for the Ipod. My plans are to use the gauge display, Blue tooth for phone, and Iphone / ipod connection through the nav system. Since I use the car primarily on weekends for local driving I do not have a need for the Nav upgrade.

Unfortunately the HKS CAMP-2 gauge display is now out of production. If your are lucky, you might find a used one, but they are fairly hard to come by.

I have attached a document that details a Parrot installation that provides a wired or wireless high quality audio interface for your Iphone or Ipod and hands-free phone use.

WhiteXKR I am a former '97 XK8 owner and returning to the forum. I am heading to BWI to pick up an '01 XK8 on Wednesday. If I didnt have a 12 hour ride ahead of me to get the car back to the Chicago area I would find you and buy you a dinner for all of your contributions. I have a NAV system on this new one so am looking forward to putting some of these upgrades in place in the upcoming year starting with the parrot install. Are you making harnesses for those? Jac

Thanks for the kind words!

I do not stock standard harnesses for the Bluetooth upgrade but I can make them up custom for you if you would rather not do it yourself. Email or PM me to discuss the details.

Hello WhiteXKR,

Fantastic work... All of you. I first read ccfulton's weekend prodject which of course led me to you. I am picking up a 2004 XK8 on the 28th this month and really can't wait to join the club. I am hoping you could still put together a PAC -VCI-X harness for me....

Hello and welcome Padcat!

Yes, I still make up the plug-and-play video adapters.

Once you have decided which video accessories you are adding PM me with the details and I will help you customize it for your application.

Hi!

I have 2005 XKR that I want to update my Nav, back up camera and XM radio with weather and traffic.

I just ordered my GVN 53. What else do I need to order?

The parts needed are listed in the PDF documents in the very first post of this thread.

Make sure you get the latest maps; they were just updated in May of this year. If not, you can buy them on the Garmin site for $200.

...just make sure the Garmin GVN 53 you buy is preloaded with the 2012 maps, otherwise, its been sitting in stock for awhile. If you buy new, you should get the latest firmware and maps available from Garmin.

XK8/R owners are always writing me wanting to upgrade their factory navigation. I still think the method outlined in this post above is one of the best ways. Unfortunately, the Garmin GVN-53 has been discontinued for a while, and only rarely do they come up on ebay.

Well, I was just browsing around and I see one for sale (no affiliation): Garmin GVN 53 GPS Receiver 753759073886 | eBay

When you figure the cost of the upgrade be sure to add in $210 for a PAC-VCI-X, and if you want the video installation to be plug-and-play $150 for the plug -and play adapter from me at the TheJagwangler.com.

If you want the XM-Sirius adapter option it is about another $100 avaialble on ebay, plus for XM-Sirius you will need to add an audio aux. in using your preferred method (there are many posts on this).

I did this very upgrade about a year and a half ago and have been very pleased with it. I have no natural sense of direction and rely heavily on sat/nav. It really is the way to go and there are very recent map updates available on an SD card from Garmin from May of last year.

Bring up this old, excellent, thread agin just to brag a little....

Just scored a new in the box PAC VCI-X on ebay for $102, that's less than half price!

Now to get my backup camera installed......finally a use for the worthless NAV screen, if only they still made the HKS CAMP 2 gauge display interface.

Great price!
Let me know if you want the plug and play mod. I do for the PAC VCI-X now to eliminate wire cutting and soldering....I'll include it in the 15% off sale I am running....so it would be $127.50.
