Thanks buddy, but I'm an electronics tech so cutting and soldering is no big issue. You harness would make this a true plug and play install though.

I searched and HKS is actually making the CAMP 2 again, $500 ouch!

Any suggestions on other OBD II interfaces that would display on a video input?

I am not seeing the CAMP 2 on distributor sites, so unfortunately I think that is just the old mfr. webpage.

If you dedicate an old Android phone and add a composite video adapter you can use an TORQUE with an ELM 327 Bluetooth scanner or better yet https://plxdevices.com/product_info.php?id=GSST2WIFI which allows additional sensors such as oil pressure not supported by OBDII.

HKS USA CAMP2

This is the current webpage: CAMP2 | ELECTRONICS | PRODUCT | HKS

The homepage from the other site says it is closed here: HKS Driving Performance - Homepage

Very misleading. If you can find a used main unit though, the accessories are still in production.

Default conversion of non navigation system

Is there any way my 2001 XKR without a navigation system can be converted to one with, say the Garmin unit? I can find a replacement center panel with the space for the navigation unit, but not sure I can make it viable. Any suggestions?

If you must have built in navigation, fit a modern touchscreen unit as described here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...satnav-111651/.

The GVN-53 is out of production, and even if you get one used, you still need to get a used OEM monitor (15 year old technology) and a video converter which will be hundreds more.

I say embrace the classic beauty (and function...even better with RealGauge) of the three gauges. There is good reason why I have had over 100 customers convert from the obsolete nav. system to 3-gauges. These days, many folks just use a smartphone for navigation.

Just finished my installation of the converter, put it in the trunk by the NAV unit. A good source for switched power and reverse light power is the parking sensor module tucked in behind the rear fuse box. The white/ green stripe wire is switched power and the yellow wire is +12 v with reverse lights. Had to pul out the amp/NAV/CD stack to get to the wires behind the NAV unit to splice into but all went well and worked the first time. Very pleased.

Thanks Steve for the leg work on this mod....

Most of the products used in this build are no longer available. I don't think the 97 had a NAV options, so you probably have a 3 gauge cluster.

I think there are probably other options out there, but there are no silver bullets on the market without a lot of fab and relocation work.
