Default MGP caliper covers.

I've been wanting to do my calipers in red but since they're not good looking to begin with, I decided to cover them.
I ordered the brembo style without the logo but I really didn't want to glue since they have to be re glued every time pads need changing. I read where some have drilled and tapped to screw them on but I'm starting not to like the idea of "fake" calipers.
I found the MGP caliper covers but, of course, they were available for 96-99 and mine is 2002. So I talked to my mechanic and he did a little research and found out the calipers were basically the same unless its an XKR. Even if they are slightly different, the covers have a sliding clip and it looks as if there's room for a little play. Otherwise, I'll modify them and get them to work.
I plan to add to this post and make it a DIY if they work. They should be here in about 10 days so we'll see! MGP caliper covers.-image.jpg
I ordered with the custom etched jaguar logo in black. I figure since these are machined aluminum and the logo is laser cut, the dirt would eventually get in the letters.

I think painting the stock caliper with vinyl lettering on them looks quite nice. A number of members including myself have done it, and if you take your time I think the results are great.

I'm not a fan of caliper covers (I think they look a little too much "fast and the furious"), but hey, whatever makes you happy.

I painted my caliper covers on my XF and it was basically a waste of money. They are too textured, same as XK8's, and stay dirty all the time. They're not smooth and the lettering looked ruff. My Porsche, on the other hand, has very nice calipers and no texture so they looked great painted with lettering. There's no bumpy texture to catch the dust so they clean easily.
I know these covers aren't for everyone but to me they're no different than the plastic engine cover from the factory.
But I do drive too fast and I'm always furious at other drivers so maybe......

Just installed my covers. LOVE them. Clean without trying to be fake Brembo's!
Took minutes to install and allow the brakes to breath. Amazing quality! MGP caliper covers.-image.jpg

I have to admit, I was skeptical about the covers but on the car, they look pretty good.

The red is a good contrast with the blacked out rest of the car and from some distance back, I doubt anyone will even notice they are covers.

So this was done to an 02 base, XK8 ? What modification was needed? You ordered as if it were a 99, correct ?

The black lettering is great in your application....I want silver for my silver 01 base XK8.

The brake dust gathering in the engraved relief area shouldn't be a problem as I wash the car before (or after) each drive Mainly for brake dust on the wheels. I trust whatever gathers in the relief will come clean with each washing using a pressure wand and typical wheel cleaner spray designated for dissolving brake dust.

I ordered the 99 set from their website. When I first called, they didn't want to sell them since they didn't offer anything after 99. So I just ordered from their site and planned to modify if necessary.
They fit perfectly. No mod required. For an xkR maybe not since they gave different calipers.
Best thing I've done yet!!

Default Xkr

For the XKR the Brembo brakes painted look pretty good. I've since put black lettering on mine but honestly you really can't see the black against the blue very well. This was before the lettering.

They offer custom color service but every change adds $$. The base options are silver, black or red, with black letters and the MGP logo. You can send any paint code and they will match for 100.00 then the logo adds another extra charge, lettering color change is another 20.00 if I remember.
But the ease of installation is the most amazing part. And cleaning.
And I like that up close they just look like a clean finishined cover. A friend thought they were a factory option!!

Default Installation photos

I thought I'd post a few photos of the brackets and just how easy these are to install.
Here is a cover and the two brackets for front calipers MGP caliper covers.-image.jpg

Bracket for rear cover clipped over caliper. Doesn't interfere with the functioning parts of caliper. MGP caliper covers.-image.jpg

Cover attached to clips. It floats in front of caliper allowing air flow. Very sturdy. MGP caliper covers.-image.jpg

Finished install. It takes longer to get tire off than to install the covers. I also ordered a set for my XF and hope they fit as easily as these. I had my calipers painted red but they always look dirty. And no matter what anyone says, they're a devil to clean!!
These covers being flat should make cleaning much easier!! MGP caliper covers.-image.jpg

Default Nice look

I've never liked the look of the stock Xk8 brakes and these covers do make an impressive difference for not a lot of money. Nice work!

Just thought I should give pricing since I've has several pm's.
the standard MGP cover without the jaguar logo is 200 set.
To add custom J A G U A R or the leaper image is a 70.00 charge. These aren't printed or stickers but actually machined logos in the aluminum.
The image colors are black or silver as standard on red, black or satin silver covers.
White letters are 20.00 extra. Custom color covers can be ordered with your paint code. But that adds 100+

Mine as shown were 270.00.
I took a chance and ordered them from their website but they only list availability for 96-99 cars. I don't think they will fit XKR if the calipers are different.
It takes longer to remove wheels than to install these covers!!

Greetings, I wanted to get the red MGP caliper covers with the Jaguar logos for my 03' XK8 but it turns out I have the 325mm front rotors not the 305mm rotors and MGP says they don't make a version that fits the 325mm rotors.

Anyone else been through this and found another supplier of solutions?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What's interesting here is the caliper is the same (ATE) no matter the rotor size, the only difference is the bracket. I called MGP and they apparently now have a cover for 1999-2006 calipers. I ordered a set. Will let you know. They are offering 15% off for Mothers Day.
