Default motorized head rests

The head rests in my 01 XKR are not working--the motor seems to operate but no movement. Any advice on how difficult it is to remove the upholstery to get to the motor/belt. I am concerned about damaging the leather.

Also, does anyone have a diagram of the seat so I can see the motorized setup.

thanks

gary

It nothing to do with the motor. Pm meyour email address. There is a bulletin on how to fix it. Is easy enough. I hate moving the leather, but if I can do it so can you.
also pm me why you are sendingme youremail address. LOL I get a little overwhelmed with pm and emails sometimes so I forget.

Hey techee, my headrests do the same thing...funny thing is, they USED to work when I got the car. Now they just motor and stay in one place. At least I got a chance to set them before 'no joy' on the ol controls.

PM'd ya for that TSB thingee.

thanks!

FJT got me the TSB and I did the work myself. Only injury was a big scratch on the hand (with a little blOOd) from trying to remove the stinking 'hog' clips that were basically useless. Other than that, the instructions were pretty good and both headrests work now. Gotta re-check the passenger side cable though...it is still ticking when trying to auto-retract into the seat. Grrr...minor.
