I would like to put together a spreadsheet (yes I'm an engineer) of what mpg we're all getting. If your interested.
Now to give it some depth if you could tell me some simple details
Vert or coupe
4 or 4.2
8 or R
Primarily Highway, urban or mixed
UK or US gallons
Sporty or sedate driving style
.............

4.0 L
XKR
mainly non-urban, 2 lane twisty roads
mainly illegal sporty driving, Sport mode engaged 90% of the time
21 mpg average
Note, imho driving styles differ so much that I don't think an average of all reported mpg is going to have any meaning. I find that while there is some curiosity satisfied when finding out the possible highest mpg achievable when driving like grandma, that type of driving eliminates 99% of the fun there is to be had in owning and driving an XK.

Seriously, I don't there's much that can be "affordably" done with the computers and induction system to get a better MPG. Of course one must be sure the car is in good state of tune, fresh spark plugs, and clean sensors. Tire under-inflation will also contribute to a poor MPG.
........driving with "gusto" is always going to yield a worse MPG. I just don't care. The XKR is so much fun when in play mode. Paying 25-50% more for gasoline seems like a fair cost for the entertainment received.

Old thread, but interesting from an educational point of view...
For me, over the last 992 miles, I used 47.8 gal, average mpg of 20.8 and average speed of 41 mph. Not too bad considering roughly half of that was at 80 mph (for which I am not under oath, officer) and about half was near 0 mph in traffic.

Or, alternatively, make this about Jags, and about MPG, like the topic says. Like how the car learns your driving style, mostly without you knowing, which influences your MPG numbers, then post the numbers. Occasionally resulting in cognitive dissonance when the result is that you are actually a toddling quinquagenarian, not the stylishly risque quinquagenarian rake that you think yourself.

26.3
Just returned from a weekend trip. Spokane Wash. to Butte Mt. 320 mi, 98 XK8. Non ethanol 91 octane. Two mountain passes. 85 MPH wherever possible. Several construction slowdowns. Average speed 73 MPH. Actually just looked and it says 26.4 MPG. Got 25.3 on way over but climbs are longer that way and had ethanol fuel.

Now there are a huge number of services for writing essays and other types of written works. Here is site on which are collected reviews on them - https://paidpaper.net/best-term-paper-writing-services/ . You can read them, compare prices, advantages, disadvantages and choose the most suitable option.

Thanks guys. You have made me feel much better I hardly do any motorway driving its just mainly around town and a few stop/start country runs. I thought my MPG was not very good until I read your replies.
Average speed 30mph. UK mpg is 21.5 sometimes a bit more. When I last did a bit of Motorway driving I got around 28 mpg.
I have a 2003 XKR Convertible.

a lot for making some points clear. Thanks for the info. I advise you to pay attention to the sources and literature of the 20th century on this topic, this will help you write a historiography of the issue and tell the story of the creation of the idea of alternative energy sources. As for the personalities, I would advise you to read his biographies and see his twitter, where he often notes his achievements and thoughts about this. If you have any problems, you can contact the Australian letter service https://au.edubirdie.com/help-with-nursing-assignments, which will help you to select material, design and check for plagiarism.

Just did a long stretch of mainly highway (@ 80-100 mph) but included an ascent of a 1400 m mountain pass, and some slow city driving: 21 mpg.
With a less frenetic pace and mix of hwy and city I tend to get about the same (18-22 mpg). Best is mainly slow hwy (55-65 mph) and about 25 mpg.

My XK8 odometer is very accurate. But the onboard Computer MPG is optimistic by 0.9 to 1.3 MPG (several modern cars I've had were also optimistic). My MPG is always adjusted for GPS actual mileage and the gallons at the pump. On a recent 2800 mile highway trip the onboard MPG said 28.7 but the actual corrected MPG was 27.8. These were mostly 2 lane highways at sedate speed.
I never bother checking it around town.

vert
4.0L
XKR
Primarily urban
US
Sedate
on my current tank, which has been ALL urban:
15.0mpg
20mph average speed
So this probably shows close to the very low end of mileage for these cars. While I don't often sit in traffic or for very long at stoplights, on the current tank I haven't been much above 40mph

Statistics from my lovely and highly organized wife:
Average mileage over the last 18 months: 17.8 mpg (much of this in the city, lead foot probably doesn't help, ~11,400 miles, ~640 gallons)
Highest mpg per fill up: 25.6 mpg (mostly highway)
Lowest mpg per fill up: 10.1 mpg (city in the summer)
