My Christmas present --- convertible lines replaced!

So I got my car back today (after two and a half weeks)... I had gotten the green shower a few months ago and was doing the manual latch but recently the top quit working and appeared to have another leak somewhere else (as the fluid was low).
So I bit the bullet and all-in spent ~$1,875 for the complete job. This included all new lines and rebuilt rams and main latch from Top Hydraulics ... with up-front shipping that was around $1,100 (the up-front shipping is where they send the rebuilt rams and charge you $900 for the cores and an extra $100 for who-knows what... normally the total parts are a grand but with the up-front shipping they charge you $2,000 and refund $900 when you return the cores - hopefully that goes as planned).
I found a guy to do all the work for around $750 out the door (oil, other misc and tax) and he did a good job all in all... he said the latch and rams appeared fine, but since I was doing all the lines and plan on having the car for a while I figured it was best to do it all at once.
Had I known it would take him two and a half weeks to complete the job (between other jobs he was doing) I probably would have done the job myself, but it WAS nice not to have to mess with all the crap involved![Big Grin](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The top definitely seems to go up and down quicker now and having the peace of mind knowing that the convertible top / green shower is no longer a worry makes it all worth while

Blingside, Like you, if it was going to take that amount of time, I would have sent my rams and latch to be rebuilt, would have saved the unknown $100 and any guess work as to the money getting back in my account.
The guy did you a good deal and I hope some of the locals will be able to use him.
Have a great Christmas.
