BlooDSMeaR,

If you hurry, I just found a 2004 XKR (Looks Black) has the "R" Package with 90,000 miles, Alan sez it's got 90,000 miles and he wants $11,887.00 for it.....Could be the same XKR as you were talking about as I don't know where Warner Springs, CA is! Got nice wheels and Baby! it's BLACK! How could a young Man go wrong?

I don't know how to take your comment, it's oozing of sarcasim.
However that's one I'm considering, I'm not a fan of black, nor the wheels, I like the early XKR wheels, however it is in my price range. I have said it many many times that I do know how to work on cars. I have rebuilt a BMW 740 trans, rebuilt serval small block ford motors. I'm more familiar with ford's and Dodges. I also have stated that I'm not looking for a show quality car, just looking for one that's not beater status, and I have also said it's not going to be my daily driver. So I can wait on parts.

One thing a lot of people have said is I need more money, well I don't. Just because it cost more does not mean it's any better. I don't mind paying more for quality, but there is a law of diminishing return. Pay $5k more to have a few less miles and a couple less blemishes. I can live with $12k XKR. I can tell a a big diffrence between a $5.00 and $20.00 bottle of wine. I personally can't tell much of a difference between a $20.00 bottle and $100.00 bottle.

$ 5 bottle of wine = Hyundai Tiburon.
$ 20 bottle of wine= Ford Mustang
$100 bottle of wine= XKR Coupe

If you are prepared to do your own work and understand any car is a project, you will be fine.

Parts can get a bit pricey, so plan time and budget accordingly.

cargurus.com is a great site and I wish you the best of luck!

Well guys thanks for all of your input, I have found the "one" last weekend. I drove over 700 miles to look at it, and it's the one. It was the 04 listed on car gurus.. it's clean tight and every thing works except the recline on the drivers seat. It does have some paint fade on the rear bumper, and needs a good detail. But he did have miles of service paperwork. The guy changed the oil every 1500-2000 miles. Upgraded the charger pulley, did a complete exhaust. She does need tires.

My Dad is sitting in it. He drove down with me to pick it up. When it came time to drive it home, my Dad said he was driving the jag. He drove it all the way to Redding. I drove it the rest of the way.

Default BlooDSHeaR finally got his Car

Hey Bud!

Now that you mention it, "Black's" not so bad after all, is it? Tell your Dad that he looks pretty sharp sitting there behind that Wheel! I hope you like the Jag, as it is one of the most beautiful Cars in the World....Congratulations!

Give us the details as to the color of the interior....What is the paint code on the door jam....What month and year was it built and does it have HID lights?

The more I look at the Wheels the more I like them...My 2005 looks exactly like your car except for the Wheels....Mine are Montreal's......

Be sure to ask us lots of questions, as you will have a new one almost every day..

My Best!

It's going in for the "works" detail tomorrow. Tires should be in by the 28th. I have the alignment apointment scheduled on the 1st. I just ordered a case of k&n oil filters, a trans filter kit, stuff to change the spark plugs, fuel filter and trany fluid on the way as well.

Double check the ride height from the spec book on jagrepair.com. From the picture, that front end looks low. This usually means the upper strut bearings are shot, the front end is low, and the camber is out of spec. You might want to do this before spending anything on new tires and alignment (camber is not normally adjustable, unless you restore the ride height).

Beautiful car. Best of luck, keep us posted.

BlooDSMeaR,

The best Tires I have found are Continental Extreme Contact DW's for the Front and Continental Extreme Contact DWS's on the Rear....They have good grip, quiet and last a long time! You will want to use Denso Iridium Spark Plugs, they are the best and be sure to use Plug #ETS-IK16. For the Transmission, go to: Oil change kit for 6HP26/28/32 They have the complete Transmission Kit --the whole thing including ZF Oil for $258.19...Also, be sure to use MobilOne 5/30 synthetic oil...My Engine holds 8 quarts...and they should be the same.

I'm thrilled to death for you! When you want to start doing the little things to it let me know and I will give you some ideas and where to get them....

You beat me to it +1 on the low nose in the photo. It may be the angle of the picture, but....

Also check the wear patterns of the tires before paying the $2 disposal fee to get rid of them. The wear can tell you a lot about the condition of the suspension. and there no sense getting it aligned if you have to tear it all back apart to replace stuff.

She is down at the detailer, it was estimated at 8.5 hours for front to back top to bottom every nook and cranny cleaning and Polishing. Once I get her back I'll post propper pictures.
