affirmative.. I only put enough tension on it to move it an inch. I siliconed all the hose in an effort to slow down oxidation.
It may be over-kill, but after the car has had a good workout, and is parked in the garage, I then raise the hood to keep the engine heat from cooking the myriad of hoses any more than absolutely necessary.

Also to deter mice from making nests in the Winter here when the Jag is not used frequently.

I am the same. Its a bit cold and soggy in the UK at the moment but I always ensure I give the car a..... 'vigorous' drive once a week to shake off any cobwebs.
If anyone does ever break those black pipes let me know I have a fairly simple fix, tried replacing none available.

None of mine are broken, yet, but I would like to know the simple fix. For future reference of course.

Your right about that. I found a similar pipe but no Norma connectors. I purchased two other pipes with Norma connectors on. The idea being I take the connectors off those and fit it to the pipe I bought. Basically a lot of wasted money and the 'fix' I did looks and works well. I do not like bodging things but my fix was better than leaving it as it was.

Not too sure if I should be reading this as a sarcastic reply or not but I have requested from the manufacturers whether Norma connectors can be purchased singly.

I doubt whether Norma will sell one or two connectors however if members wanted to do a "group buy" that could be a different story.
