NAV to Triple Gauge conversion done!
Well I finally made the leap to a Triple Gauge conversion, I love the look, much more classic looking I think.
Steve's, TheJagWrangler, wiring hardness is a must have, excellent instructions and takes all the guess work out of wiring not to mention hours of burning up what brain cells you have left looking at wiring diagrams.
I do have a small complaint.....this is a lot of expense and trouble for a clock and two idiot gauges that don't give you any real info.
I have a Scan Gauge II installed set to read voltage and water temp, the Scan Guage reads 14.2 volts after starting and drops to around 13.8 during normal operation, the so called volt meter in the gauge pack goes from off to 13 and stays there. You would think the volt meter would at least actually read voltage.
The oil pressure guage is basically an on/off switch, I already knew this but at least expected the ECU to make it move a little with rpm. That's what my Miata did, same setup but the ECU "interrupted" what it thought the oil pressure should be based on rpm, made you feel good to see it move!
Anyway I'm happy with the look and would do it again..

It does look great. Good job. I prefer the gauge setup as well. Definitely a more classic look.
You matched the wood very well. Did you buy the whole set or just get really lucky?
BTW, Steve does sell Realguage which will make the oil gauge work, as well as the temp gauge, but I guess you know that. No help for the volt meter.
