Problem downloading ISO file via FTP
Actually, I must be the idiot of the day. I have tried three times to download the file and each time the file stops one tenth of the way through at 544 Mb. Is there something I need to do on my computer to allow for this 4GN, seven hour transmission?

Just another datapoint:
I downloaded the JG_D0_ADB3102.iso image from this link in message #74, used OSX's Disk Utility to burn it to a Sony DVD+R, and put it into my 2001 XK8's system. No problems whatsoever, and I now have a nice on-screen clock.
I've got a well-connected machine with more or less free bandwidth available, so I've gone ahead and mirrored the ISO file. If you've had problems with H20boy's FTP server, you might have better luck retrieving it from mine.
I've made two copies available. The first is the raw ISO file, ready to be burned. The second is the same file, compressed about 50% with ZIP compression (so it will take roughly half the time to download). It must be unzipped before burning.
Here are the links:
Uncompressed: http://poison.is.toxic.sf.ca.us/jag/JG_D0_ADB3102.iso
Compressed: http://poison.is.toxic.sf.ca.us/jag/...DB3102.iso.zip

I have the original DVD that came with the car which is presumably the latest version but the part number does not match the name on your file (ADB3102?). Anyway, I thought to be safe it would be nice to download the iso image if something were to happen to my disc. I have tried a few times now with the links on poison.is.toxic.sf.ca.us and the downloads of either the zip or iso always stall out within the first several minutes for some reason.
I am now trying the original link that was given in post #74 and that seems to be working so far (at least it is getting further along than the other links).

Well I was able to download the iso file from the original link (the other 2 were hopeless) and I burned the image to a DVD +R disc and tried it out. It eventually worked but seems much fussier than the original OEM disc. When I first put the burned disc in the system kept indicating to insert a DVD. I ejected the disc and put it in again and also turned hit the on/off button next to the nav screen. Got the burned disc to work just fine and the software version is the same as the OEM disc that I have.
So I will put the burned disc away as a spare in case the OEM eventually dies.

Whoops. Should be better now.
This should be fixed, and I was able to transfer the files successfully to a machine on a home DSL line, so it is now in the "works for me" category.
Sorry folks. I push bits for a living; you'd think I'd get this right the first time.

2001 Navational update - Alpine
I am new to this site. I have read the updates for the navational Alpine systems you posted and tried to download the link but I can't get it to even come up on my computer. I have a 2001 Jaguar and am looking to get the 'clock' version (BM9JG91F, I believe). Could I pay you for a copy?

I have had several requests for copies of the DVD but have been so busy at work that I have not had time to make them; even worked a 16 hour shift on Thanksgiving. I hope to have a little time over the next couple of weeks and will make up a half dozen copies and post here when I have them. No charge other than my cost for the DVD and shipping. Stay tuned,

If anyone wants to sell their factory original disc, Leaper or Clock, I am interested for my 2002 XKR.
FYI: Home burned discs cannot last as long as factory/professional made discs as professional grade have the data physically stamped into the plastic media. By comparison, home burned dvds are not as durable. I have burned 6 copies using different computers, programs and media and all eventually have problems. I don't need the lousy nav, but I like the screen to light up with something better than Check the media...

Thanks to H2Oboy, we have a site to host this file; just click on the following: JG_D0_ADB3102.iso

So, I Dl'ed this ISO, burned it with Toast 11 on my Mac and then went outside and started up the Jag, inserted the new disk and the Nav display admonished me DO NOT TO STOP THE ENGINE, and viola! All updated, and now i live somewhere! I don't know how accurate it all will be ultimately as many as have said, we Floridians are used to the lines drawn on a map changing CONSTANTLY but the fact that there i a road, and the Jag is now parked on that road is a far site better than it was just 2 days ago. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
