upper shock mount removal replacement
referring to the upper shock mounts rebuild replace
you must have an inpact wrench to take apart the nyloc nut on the shock shaft
and you will likely need a "jounce bumper" ($25 dollars each at bapgeon) if they are rotted away like mine. Also removing the bolt from the upper a arm is a liittle harder than shown, I finally had to use a a screwdriver to pry it out and get it started. Also removed the upper ball joint to get some movement. there is a universal press that you can get at sears for 20 bucks that takes it right off no pickle for me no sirree. Even then it was a hour or two working it out. the black dog replacemt instructions are not clear and look like a copy of a copy so its hard to tell how and which goes where. Since i live in houston and i have to wait on the unmmentioned jounce bumper i might drive by there to make sure i have it correct on monday

shocks
Mud, I too read those and really didn't see what difference it made.
After getting them in and comparing with OEM the PVC was some what firmer and the bump stop fit was good. I will just have to let you know if they stand up as well in 60K miles as I'm sure the bottom shock mount will be junk, should have been poly to start.
I did a write up a couple of weeks ago called "Front shock replacement part 2" which was some of the problems I had, not a easy job by any means!!!
