Need new engine - from overheating
Radiator hose became disconnected while driving on the highway. By the time I pulled over, it was too late. She's a goner : (
Had a compression test done and 4/8 cylinders dead. Was recommended to replace the motor. YIKES! $5,800.00 estimate for a used engine to be installed. Dammit, why didn't I pull over sooner!

I feel your pain! My lower radiator hose blew off the thermostat housing after climbing one of our little local mountains. Fortunately, all the coolant shut down the engine immediately. Coasted to a stop and with a tow, new hose, new thermo housing and TWO clamps it's all better.
How far did it take you to stop?
New/reworked heads might be a less expensive repair.
Doing the work yourself or with an independent shop?

@Test Point, unfortunately, I didn't realize the scope of damage and drove for about 15-20 minutes before pulling over. I don't have a garage or the tools to take on a task this large, so having a local shop do the work. I haven't given them the green light to start yet.
@Jandreu, what is a LS1 conversion?
