Default need seat control module LJE210AA

I have a passenger seat control module that is not working. It says LJE210AA for my 2001 xkr. Is this the right part for an American car? Do I need this specific module or will others work? I cant find anywhere that has one that is not $1000.

Plan A is always to repair these modules, if at all possible. Most fail by having the circuit board vibrate and wear out the circuit tracks on the outer edge by contact with the hard plastic shell. This is very common. These tracks need to be repaired either where they are broken or by replacing them with a shunt wire, from where they start to where they end. This requires soldering skills maybe above basic, but not terribly advanced. Mostly a matter of getting good lighting and magnification. There was a time where some forum member offered the service for a fee.

The reason for plan A are that these modules are "coded" to the car (replacement modules would need software coding/pairing/programming) and new ones from Jaguar are prohibitively expensive if at all available

Plan B is to find replacement used modules. Driver side may list something to the effect of having a memory. I believe the seat heater will not work without reprogramming.

Plan C is to locate/buy a new part. Expensive proposition if this forum is to be believed.

PS: FWIW, Jaguar sells the plastic lids to these modules for surprisingly little $. Worth checking if these are still available if you need one.

Info for you.
We got all sorts of info at the dealer. I tried to configure and no option was available.
I called tech line about this and got the answer.
They issued a TECH TIP a few months later for the SEAT MODULE configuration.

See BOTH .pdf for clarification.

I do like the fact that in order to program a 2001/2002 module the tech simply has to "locate a 2003-04 XK" and install the seat module in that car and program it. Similar to the Haynes manuals' simple final step in a complicated repair procedure "refitting is the reverse sequence to removal". I wonder how many customer seat modules got broken/accidently swapped on 2003-04 cars by techs using the car as a universal module programmer.
