New cat in the litter box

I know I might be in the minority group of people that like to see a Leaper on the front of the XK8 but I really like that Jaggy ornament and hubby had already gotten one for me so I'm having Dad put it on the front.
I had not thought of moving the badge on the front but with the leaper there that might be a good idea. I like the badge on the flat grille, like you said, makes it look more modern and it looks awesome on yours, although I tend to like the antiquish looking Jaguars better. Thanks so much for the suggestions and feedback.
>Just read the leaper or not leaper thread. ^_^; I'm keeping my leaper but we decided to move the badge to the grille like you suggested Phil. Thanks!

Don't know if you have the grille, but I'm selling my flat style black grille. It's in a gloss black finish, I hated the flat black!! It really makes the badge pop and on a red car would look very Ferrari!! I found a pic of a newer red xk with black grille. Now even jaguar offers full black grilles as options!!

We got to the shop this afternoon and of course it was overcast and drizzling rain. Papi was right in the midst of wet sanding but half the car was still in fresh paint and you can tell how nice the color will be. He had done all the hidden areas that a complete respray entails, but none of the trim yet.
On to the photos!!

Wet sanding is such a ****ing scary looking process. It almost seems counter intuitive. You pain the car, have this new fresh paint, and then you're going to lightly sand it. You'd think it'd end up all scratched up, but somehow it all works out.
I really don't understand it.
PS. I noticed he painted the door handles. Where the originally chrome or body colored? Mine are chrome, as well as the keyhole slot. I'd absolutely hate the body shop guy who didn't leave em chrome unless I said otherwise.

I know, right? But I have faith in Papi. he has a lifetime of experience at this. He was using 1200 grit today and said there was still 1500 and 2000 to go before buffing. the result will be like glass!
The handle surrounds were body color and the actual handles chrome (still masked off).

Really unique color, you should be happy!
Just noticed that the front end/bumper area matches very well. Even the OEM paint from the factory doesn't get that quite right. Tell Dad nice job.
The black rocker panels might look better to you if it was taken around the the rear number area as well. It does pick up the color off the top nicely.

Yes, I LOVE how the color turned out and it looks even prettier under the sun when you can really see the pearl on the paint sparkle. My Dad (Papi) isn't too happy with the final paint job (he had not painted in many years)... there's three small spots that he needs to retouch and there's a mysterious scratch on the hood that would not buff out. He also switched the emblems on the rear from side to side... LOL... those will have to get switched back in the near future. What bothers me the most is the dark color on the rocker panel but Dad says we can repaint that. Aside from that I think it looks beautiful, especilly now with the new Italian crome wheels.
Thank you to my DEAR DEAR PAPI for all the work he did on my car. <3
