I guess I'm ridiculous or maybe more ridiculous!
QUOTE=Shoreguy;1921127]The only thing I can come up with is, REALLY! That price is ridiculous and to think anyone in their right mind would spend that is even more ridiculous.
I guess, Mr. Shoreguy, that I'm pretty ridiculous too! Deuce is in the process of pretty much re-doing his 2005 XKR!. He is completely redoing his Engine, Supercharger & Intercooling system and in addition to that he is working with another Guy to make a larger Throttle-Body for his 4.8 Liter Engine....He has now redone his Suspension front and rear and has pretty much made his XKR Coupe "One of a Kind"! The good thing about his redo is the fact that it still looks as Stock as it did before he started all this several months ago! He has been kind enough to share with us some of the things he has developed along the way...…which is much more than some of the other Guys have done!
Some years back, shortly after I bought my 2005 XKR, my 4th XK Coupe... I had the Engine redone, pretty much the same as Deuce....Not as much, as I didn't Bore it, but I had it Ported, the Piston tops and Combustion Chambers were Ceramic Coated, which was pretty significant. I did the usual Pulley changes along with the Large Intercooler, Water Pump and Methanol/Water Injector System...Pretty ridiculous Huh? But that's what I wanted! Deuce wants all that and more! More power to him as he apparently has the money and is building his XKR the way he wants it.....I think it's great that he is sharing his "finds" with us...gives us all something to think about, dream about or even Buy!
As I think about it! It doesn't seem so ridiculous to me! Oh! We are all entitled to our own thoughts but sometimes it's best to leave them unsaid.....

thank you @bcprice36.
whether or not there are people who not agree to do certain things is normal. we are not all the same. But often I found people in this forum (maybe because I'm Italian? I don't know) that are not willing to deal with others who have made different choices from theirs. But in fact I write a lot less about this forum.
however, since we are on the subject, here are our spectacular fully adjustable front upper suspension arms.
the Assetto is perfect in incidence, camber and convergence. Obviously, in addition to the coilover kit, we add the larger front and rear torsion bars, the powerflex black series kit, and even the limited slip differential! therefore the price is much higher than Shoreguy would approve! :-) :-) :-)

Wow! I'm amazed what people can do and deuce2000 clearly has a track purpose on his mind. BC in Houston is right in that we shouldn't criticise other people's choices too harshly.
Of course people are different and here in Bahrain, I have more humble ambitions on my 1999 XK8 4.0L convertible.
Deuce2000's suspension modifications will not be everybody's taste and Count Iblis' dynamic figures make interesting reading. I previously had a couple of Porsches which I took on the Bahrain Formula 1 track and that's where you can really see what cars can do at their limit. Pushing those limits is what Deuce2000 is all about.
On this forum, there's Ruh, who's trying a XK Electric Vehicle Conversion and also Race Diagnostic's enduring fight for durability. What makes us different is what makes this forum interesting. Keep it up and don't be discouraged by naysayers. To others I would say "Let's be civil" even when we disagree.

I've found in America there are a lot less restrictions and people who do these kinds of things and you can earn more money to do so.
A guy who works for me is building a Prius with a Cummins diesel engine, I currently have 3 projects on the go, my X308, my 1964 Greyhound bus (to be fitted with a 550 bhp 2 stroke twin turbo diesel and my 1970 Challenger with a high revving 470 cu in big block).

car setup is amazing and impressive engine! but i had a problem with a oil hose that came from engine to cooler.
now I have new high pressure hoses lined with steel stocking and a new higher flow radiator. in 2 days we will install everything and (hopefully) it will be finished (only the electronic part will be missing).
but as you know, the unexpected are always lurking since we've upgrade everything! we just have to be patient and arrange every detail from time to time until everything is perfect, with patience and without getting caught up in anxiety!

A Prius with a Cummings Diesel ! What a Hoot!! That will drive the Sierra Club right up Everest.
The great thing about the Auto Enthusiast Hobby is that there is no "Norm", and there should not be. We are all individuals. We love our cars and what we do to them. Some like them pure stock, some slightly modified, and some(cringe!!!!) like them full out weirdly wild, but that is what makes us what we are. As my "Dear Old Dad" always said, Everyone has Their own little sack of rocks, long as they don't throw them at me, we'r gonna get along just fine.". Works for any kind of car or anything else(politics, religion, sex, etc.). I would like to afford to do a full on race modification on my XK8, maybe, but for now I will have to just look at deuce2000's suspension parts, admiringly, and enjoy my nice soft touring ride.

Thank you for sharing. How hard would it be to have those made to fit the X150?

Good Luck, Deuce, both in marriage and with the XKR's revamp! It will be fun and I wish you well in both! It's fun to try new things and the good thing about it is that if they work, those things are something no one else has but everyone wants! A few of the Forum Members have tried different things to make our XKR's perform better but it is costly and there is not much information out there nor Parts out there to easily try the things we come up with! You are fortunate to have found these People with the knowledge and equipment to make and develop these new Parts! Wouldn't it be nice if XKR Owners had access to the things that Mustang Owners do?
I haven't seen much lately about the Throttle Body development, could you brief us on what's going on with that?
Both of you have fun and continue your development of the XKR! By the way, what color is the interior?

Deuce, I thought you had a Black interior and you are right, that Photo of the Ivory interior threw me! BCP
Off Hand, Deuce, was the Oil Hose the standard Jaguar Cooler hose or something made-up? If it was one of the Standard Hoses, then I'm concerned unless you have a different Oil Pump in the new Engine! I had to change my Cooler and Hose about a year ago because there was a leak at the connection on the upper right side. Don't know if it was hit by something or it just got old and brittle…..
BC [/ QUOTE]
it was the original tube that exploded. all those junctions between the rubber tube and the aluminum tube create a lot of weaknesses. Now we will make only high pressure hose coated with steel braiding between radiator and engine, with ergal fittings. The internal diameters of the tube and the radiator are slightly higher.

COILOVERS for X100 XK8 XKR
Dear friends,
in couple of words: there are two X100 in my possession, both are in line for coilovers. I didn't find anything what sounds reasonable for me (except Luca Mani deuce2000 system, which is awesome, but costly). Finally, reputable company agreed to develope finished product for our cars for very reasonable amount of money (something about 1000-1200 for the full set), but I'm abroad for at less two weeks and can't dismount any of my cars. But, if anyone could assit with measurements of stock shocks and springs, then we will save at less two weeks. When installed, I promise to share it here. Lowering springs I've installed killed stock shocks in a month, but also showed how X100 is looking on sport suspension, it is just unbelievable. I think many of us will enjoy it. So I kindly asking here for help and assistance, if someone has those parts in the garage or on sale, or just can find those measurements, which I couldn't.
What is required:
From front:
-Top mount bolt pattern
-Lower mount bushing width and inner diameter
-Approx total length
From rear:
-Inner diameter from top of the spring
-Lower mount bushing width and inner diameter
-Approx total length
It would be very good to took also some pictures.
Thank you in advance,
With best regards,
Vadim!
